To boost statewide collaboration in adding a fourth leg to the Kansas economy, the Kansas Bioscience Authority regularly convenes community stakeholder meetings across Kansas.
Following visits to Wichita, Emporia, and Hutchinson in the fall, we were pleased to partner with the Lawrence Chamber of Commerce and the University of Kansas for a productive stakeholder meeting in November. The event also served to welcome KU Chancellor Bernadette Gray-Little to the Kansas bioscience community, with the KBA board of directors, KU researchers, chamber of commerce members, and city officials in attendance.
In addition to stakeholder meetings, the KBA participates in a range of other activities across Kansas to share information and gain local insights from community leaders, members of the business community, state legislators, and industry representatives. For example, KBA CEO Tom Thornton recently addressed the Kansas Farm Bureau Presidents Conference in Manhattan and the Hutchinson Rotary Club; he received valuable input at both.
