At noon on June 29, we will partner with the Kansas City, Kan., Chamber of Commerce for the next KBA community stakeholder meeting to share information and gain local insights from researchers, members of the business community, academia, and others. On July 6, the excellence of the University of Kansas Cancer Center will be on display at a national symposium that will be held in Kansas City on the new role of academia in cancer drug discovery and development. The cancer center, the KBA, and Kauffman Foundation will join with national cancer organizations to convene this high profile event that includes Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, National Institutes of Health director Dr. Francis Collins, and the commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration, Dr. Margaret Hamburg.
